Privacy, Terms & Data
This page explains who we are, what data HouseQ processes, why, and the rights you have. It also sets out the terms for using the service and where your data is stored. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
Privacy policy
1. Who we are
HouseQ is a trade name of a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands. For everything in this document, HouseQ is the data controller.
HouseQ · Amsterdam, Netherlands · KVK [number] · contact: sh.sharifi@houseq.app
2. What we collect
- Addresses you run. The property addresses you enter, and the analyses generated for them.
- Account details. If you create an account or buy a report: your name, email address, and language preference.
- Payment data. Handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details — we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data. Standard technical data (device, browser, pages viewed) to keep the service secure and improve it.
- Communications. Messages you send us by email or support.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To deliver the service you ask for — running an address, generating a dashboard or report (performance of a contract).
- To run our business — security, fraud prevention, and improving HouseQ (legitimate interests).
- To handle payments and meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting (legal obligation).
- Analytics and any marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Property data and official registers
HouseQ analyses properties using official Dutch sources — including BAG, Kadaster, WOZ, PDOK, EP-Online and CBS. This information is about properties, not about you. Where any of it can be linked to an identifiable person, we handle it under the same protections set out here.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run HouseQ, each under a data-processing agreement and only for the purposes above:
- Cloud hosting & AI processing — within the European Union.
- Payment processing — to take payment securely.
- Email & analytics — to communicate with you and understand usage.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
6. Where your data lives
Your address and property data are processed and stored within the European Union. If a provider ever needs to process data outside the EU, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: account data for as long as you have an account, transaction records for as long as tax law requires (generally seven years in the Netherlands), and analytics for a limited period. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR (AVG) you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or provide it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email sh.sharifi@houseq.app. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and — only with your consent — analytics cookies to understand how it’s used. You can change your choice at any time in your browser or our cookie settings.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and review our measures regularly.
11. Children
HouseQ is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
Terms of service
By using HouseQ you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside the privacy policy above.
The service
HouseQ provides automated property valuations, dashboards and reports for the Dutch market, intended for orientation, negotiation and professional advice. Outputs are estimates generated from data and models. They are not an NWWI-validated taxatie, are not financial, legal or tax advice, and should not be your sole basis for a transaction. For a mortgage or any purpose that legally requires a certified appraisal, you must obtain one.
Accuracy
We work hard to make HouseQ accurate and transparent, and every figure shows the comparables and assumptions behind it. Even so, estimates can differ from a final sale or a certified valuation. We provide the service “as is” and don’t warrant that any estimate is exact.
Your use
You agree to use HouseQ lawfully, not to scrape or resell the service or its data beyond your own permitted use, and not to misrepresent its outputs as a certified appraisal.
Payments
Paid plans and one-off purchases are charged as shown at checkout. Pro subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current period. Statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal, apply where relevant.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, HouseQ is not liable for decisions made on the basis of its outputs, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes fall under the competent court in the Netherlands.
Data & residency
HouseQ is built to keep European data in Europe.
Your address and property data are processed and stored on EU-based infrastructure. Official Dutch registers (BAG, Kadaster, WOZ, PDOK, EP-Online, CBS) provide the underlying property data. Where a sub-processor would handle data outside the EU, we apply EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.
